Your consultation fees depend on the type of consultation. A higher fee is charged for an initial consultation or if you present with a new problem. Patients who need to return for a subsequent consultation will be charged a lower fee as less time is usually needed. A concessional fee is available for patients with a current pension or health care card. (Please present this at the time of your consultation.) Payment for your consultation will be requested on the day that you attend.
Fees for Surgery
You may have out of pocket fees for your surgery. Exactly how much these fees are will depend on many factors, such as:
- The type of surgery required
- The item numbers relating to your surgical procedure
- The hospital where your surgery will be undertaken
- Which health fund you have your health insurance with
We are able to provide an estimate of your surgical fees after you have had a consultation with the doctor. Unfortunately we are unable to give estimates for surgical costs before you attend for consultation.
Patients who require surgery may also have out of pocket costs for an anaesthetist, x-rays/scans/pathology, medications and health insurance excess (if applicable).
